He was imprisoned for four years for homicide and now he was hired by a First Club

Luciano Cabral He was sentenced in June 2018 to nine years in prison for being a co-author of the murder of Joan Villegas in the early hours of New Years 2017. His dad, Jose Cabralconfessed to being the author of the crime and received a sentence of 16 years in prison.

Even so, and despite the fact that his father, José Cabral, confessed to being the author of the crime, the Justice determined that Luciano was “co-author of the simple homicide” and, for that reason, he was sentenced to nine years in prison.

After spending four years housed in a “semi-closed” prison in Mendoza, the Justice decided to grant him parole and, a few days after the ruling, the 27-year-old was received at Argentinos Juniors.

At the club, Cabral achieved promotion with the team led by Juan Román Riquelme, while, when the murder was committed, he was playing for Atlético Paranaense in Brazil.

“I am not a murderer, I did not kill anyone, I just want to play soccer. And if they give me freedom I will not escape,” Cabral had expressed when he was arrested.
