Christian Pulisic is accused of animal cruelty over Instagram video

While many of his colleagues are currently in action at the European Football Championship, Christian Pulisic is enjoying his vacation. However, the Chelsea player cannot be completely relaxed – he receives a lot of criticism on the Internet for a video that he published on Instagram.

In the clip, Pulisic is sitting on the edge of a boat juggling a ball while a man next to him is holding a large fish on a fishing hook. Apparently it is a giant grouper. The American falls into the water and onto the defenseless, frightened fish, a member of the crew just holds him by the arm and pulls him back into the boat. “My life passed before my eyes,” Pulisic writes jokingly about the video. Many of his fans, however, find the post less funny and accuse the 22-year-old of animal cruelty.

“What’s that supposed to do?”, Writes a follower. “Poor fish,” says someone else. Many users ask Pulisic to delete the video again. Pulisic was apparently traveling with the crew of BlacktipH, a group of extreme fishermen who regularly post videos on Instagram and Youtube. Their boss Josh Jorgensen recently went viral for weeks after catching a tarpon weighing more than 130 kilograms. Again and again, however, there are allegations of animal cruelty against the group.

It is also not uncommon for celebrities to go fishing with BlacktipH. Jorgensen posted pictures with Donald Trump Jr. this week. Christian Pulisic received a lot of headwind from fans and animal rights activists, but positive feedback from some teammates. His Chelsea colleague Thiago Silva and Tammy Abraham commented on the video with laughing emojis, and his former BVB teammate Jadon Sancho wrote: “Bro, you play too much.”
