Pharco FC have ambitious plans: The newcomer in Egypt’s premier division is planning a transfer of Dani Alves and wants to tackle a project with Messi.
Shreen Helmy, owner of Egyptian club Pharco FC, has revealed that his club has big plans and will go after Dani Alves and Lionel Messi. While the Brazilian Alves is supposed to strengthen the promoted Premier League on the pitch, Messi is supposed to help with a charity campaign.
“I’m working on bringing Dani Alves from Sao Paulo because his experience will be good for us,” said Helmy at AlHadath Alyoum. The right-back has been playing for his favorite club since 2019, but Helmy is convinced that he can make a move to North Africa palatable for the 38-year-old. “I met with Alves. He told me that he had wanted to play for Sao Paulo since he was eight years old. But I still think I can bring him to Egypt,” said the club boss.
Messi is set to help fight hepatitis
The currently contractless Lionel Messi would certainly help Pharco FC on the pitch, but this plan is too ambitious even for Helmy. Instead, the Argentine should help with a charity project, the fight against hepatitis.
“We negotiated with Messi. Not to bring him into the club, but to strengthen our connection with the player who has already contributed to the fight against hepatitis,” said Helmy. Messi had already visited Egypt to raise awareness of the disease and its consequences.
