New magic triangle at blue-white

At FC Blau-Weiss Linz, things are going like clockwork again in the second division: The clear 4-0 victory at Admira was the fifth win in a row. Coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s team has been in a real frenzy of goals in recent weeks: at least four goals have been scored in the last five rounds – a total of 21 goals.

A new magic triangle has a special part in it: Matthias Seidl, Fally Mayulu and Paul Mensah. Since the 5-2 win at Dornbirn in early October, the trio has been at the forefront at Blau-Weiss – weekly gala appearances were the result. During this period, Seidl scored seven goals and provided two assists, Mayulu, who scored twice against Admira, scored six times and provided two assists. Mensah has one goal and four assists. Blue and white coach Gerald Scheiblehner doesn’t just want to reduce the success to his top trio: “I see it a little differently. The three are only that good when everyone else does their jobs.”

One also does his job to the coach’s complete satisfaction, even if he is currently only second choice due to the strong performance of the offensive department: Ronivaldo, who was brought in as a top striker in the summer. “I spoke to him in Linz before the game. At the moment it’s just his contribution to come off the bench. But he doesn’t give up and is also happy about Mayulus’ form. He helps us a lot,” there is praise by Scheiblehner for the Brazilian.

Steyr still in crisis

Things are not going so well at local rivalsVors Steyr: Only four points have been scored in the last eight games, and the home game against the immediate table neighbors Sturm Graz II was also lost 1:3. “We’re just a little lacking in being able to finish a game consistently for 90 minutes,” says Steyr coach Daniel Madlener.
