In a crazy match, River beat Colo Colo in Chile

The Colombian Miguel Borja and Pablo Solari, with a double each, were River’s scorers, while Paulo Díaz (against), Emiliano Amor and Esteban Pavez scored for the local team, which ended with 10 players due to the expulsion of the Uruguayan Maximilian Falcon.

The next commitment of the “Millionaire” in this contest will be on Sunday, in Mendoza, when he faces Betis, in Gallardo’s last game in the Núñez institution.

The match was entertaining and dynamic from start to finish, with a goal show that contributed to the good show, which also included the category of Colombian Juan Fernando Quintero, one of the stars of the match with three assists.

River started better standing on the field, with a presence in the midfield, against a Colo Colo who left spaces. Gallardo’s team took advantage of it in both goals, with great force. Agustín Palavecino pressed, won the ball, yielded to Quintero, who assisted Borja. The “Hummingbird” defined masterfully, in two times, and opened the scoring.

A few minutes later, River took advantage of an error in the exit of Colo Colo and Quintero made another assist, this time for Solari, who defined with solvency before the exit of Brayan Cortés.

All the good that River did, was diluted before the first half hour of play. The last champion of Chilean soccer became the owner in the midfield and uncovered shortcomings in the defensive line of his rival.

In three minutes into oblivion, the “Millionaire” suffered a comeback from Colo Colo. First with the goal against Paulo Díaz (replaced at halftime), then with Amor’s goal on a stopped ball (obviously offside), and finally through Pavez, whose previous play started with a poor clearance by Emmanuel Mammana.

The River players complained to the arbitration team led by Roberto Tobar (the same one who invalidated Matías Suárez’s goal in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores against Vélez for an alleged handball) for Colo Colo’s second goal, despite the friendly nature of the meeting.

River recovered its attitude in the second half and took advantage of the forcefulness of Solari (he left with a muscular discomfort) and Borja, guided by a phenomenal Quintero who, due to his way of playing at Sausalito, gave clear signs of wanting to continue in the club.

To make matters worse, Colo Colo was complicated by the expulsion of Falcón as a child, who received the second yellow card for throwing the ball to the referee and protested on the last play for an alleged penalty by González Pírez against Costa.

The result brought a smile to River, who beat Colo Colo for the third time this year, because at times he did it with solvency, good play, beyond the irregularity, a constant this season. In addition, there was the return of Paraguayan Robert Rojas and Felipe Peña Biafore, two soccer players who suffered serious injuries, with extensive recoveries.

River will have one more game for Gallardo as coach, but next Sunday will be the final farewell, in Mendoza and with his people.
