BVB changes logo to Champions League jersey – criticism from fans is successful

The Shitstorm is followed by an adjustment: The BVB jersey for the premier class has been changed at a crucial point.

BVB has responded to the criticism of the fan base and will change the design of the Champions League jersey. This was announced by Borussia on the club’s own website. On the second match day of the CL group stage next Tuesday against Sporting CP (9 pm in LIVE-TICKER) they will appear “with a color-contrasting club crest on the shirt chest”, explained the club.

Among other things, the new jerseys from supplier Puma originally no longer had the club crest on the chest, instead the large lettering “DORTMUND” was emblazoned there. The fans of other top European clubs such as AC Milan or Olympique Marseille, who also cooperate with Puma, also complain about the lack of logos on their jerseys.

BVB: UEFA approves new logo variant

After the jersey was leaked, BVB promised a remedy and a changed design, but only changed the lettering to “BVB 09” and stamped a transparent logo over it, which, however, was hardly visible – a breach of trust for many fans. The reactions to the first Champions League game of the season were accordingly violent.

“Borussia Dortmund then contacted UEFA and tried to get approval for a color-contrasting version of the logo. The European Football Association complied with this request on Friday afternoon,” BVB said.
