After the unsuccessful loan to Leicester, Cengiz Ünder tries his hand at the next club. AS Roma lends the Turks to France.
AS Roma has awarded Cengiz Ünder to Olympique Marseille. The French officially confirmed this on Sunday afternoon. The Turkish international will spend the coming season at OM, which pays a € 500,000 fee for the deal.
At the same time, a purchase obligation has also been included in the contract, which applies under certain, unspecified conditions. Marseille can then sign Ünder for a transfer fee of 8.4 million euros. The Roma will also receive a profit share of 20 percent in the event of a possible resale by OM.
Ünder loan to Leicester not a success
Ünder had already been awarded by the Roma last season: At Leicester City in the Premier League, however, he did not get to the train as desired, so the Foxes did not take the agreed purchase option and sent the winger back.
In Marseille, Ünder is the third newcomer after Gerson (Flamengo) and Konrad De La Fuente (FC Barcelona). He will wear the jersey number 17, which the current Bayern players Bouna Sarr and Michael Cuisance had previously worn.
