The top scorer in the history of QatarAlmoez Ali, and Akram Afif will be in charge of leading the attack of the hosts of the World Cup 2022after coach Félix Sánchez named the 26-player squad for the tournament on Friday.
Sánchez has opted for most of the plantek that helped Qatar win the Asian Cup in 2019, in which Ali, who has 42 goals in 85 games for his country, was the top scorer with nine, while his teammate Afif attack also scored in the final against Japan which ended 3-1.
With more than 160 appearances, Hasan Al-Haydos is the most experienced player on the list and the Al Sadd midfielder, who can also play as a winger, will lead Qatar at the World Cup.
The squad is made up entirely of players who are members of the Qatar Star League, and half of them come from champion Al Sadd.
