No press conference: Roma coach Jose Mourinho not ready to talk after derby defeat

Jose Mourinho’s frustration after the derby defeat is deep. He is not ready to answer questions at the press conference.

AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has refused to attend the mandatory press conference after the 3-2 derby defeat by Lazio. The Portuguese did not agree with the course of the question and answer session and left the room without saying anything.

First, the rumor surfaced in Italy that Mourinho had quarreled with journalists present and therefore left without a word. But in one of the Gazzetta dello Sport published video it becomes clear that Mourinho was – at least superficially – about a different topic.

Mou wants to speak to the journalists directly

Due to the Corona measures, the press conferences at Lazio are different than usual: the journalists do not ask their questions directly, but rather pass them on to the Laziali press spokesman, who then presents them to the two coaches.

“Lazio chose it that way for his coach. But I want to talk to the press,” Mourinho clarified in the video in which he was talking to a Serie A official. The league representative then made it clear to Mou that it is the home club – and in this case Lazio – that is allowed to determine the processes.

“Okay, let them talk to him then,” said Mou, looking at his Lazio colleague Maurizio Sarri, and left the room.
