“The FFIRI sent an email to FIFA asking them to issue a serious warning to the US federation”, completes the report of the Iranian agency. The United States had anticipated that it would not use the official flag of Iran to display “I support the women of Iran who fight for fundamental Human Rights” in the midst of anti-government protests in that country that were fiercely repressed by the local police.

The protests in Iran, the next rival of the United States in the closing of Group B of the Qatar World Cup 2022began after the murder of the young Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini on September 16.
A US Soccer spokesman explained that the posts referred to by the FFIRI were deleted and replaced with others featuring the official Iranian flag.
“We continue to support Iranian women”also clarified the spokesman for the federation of the United States, a country that Iran accused along with other foreign adversaries of fomenting the protests.
