Lewis Hamilton fills the hundred. With his race victory in Sochi, the Briton rises to become a living Formula 1 legend. These are the most successful pilots of all time.
Lewis Hamilton wins the rain battle on the slippery Sochi racetrack, making it the first Formula 1 driver in history to break the 100 race win mark. In the race for the eighth world championship, however, it remains exciting for the Briton – despite the victory at the Russian Grand Prix, only two points separate him in the overall standings from pursuer Max Verstappen.

Sebastian Vettel is third on the all-time leaderboard
A look at the shows the great talent of the Briton, who was the first and only driver to ever come close to Schumacher – and who now leads the ranking in lonely heights. Third in the ranking is Sebastian Vettel with 53 race wins, according to data from Motorsport Total, who is far from improving his statistics this year as well.
Fernando Alonso also has the theoretical possibility of reaching the top. The Spaniard is the oldest driver in the field alongside Kimi Raikkonen, but has already helped his new Alpine F1 team to 58 points this season – tenth in the overall ranking ahead of teammate Ocon and Sebastian Vettel in the Aston Martin. In 2005 and 2006 Alonso became world champion with the French (then Renault F1 Team), but in order to surpass Hamilton the Asturian would have to win all races for the next three seasons.
