After victory in the sprint: Hauser in pursuit ninth

Her second top place in the third race of the season should give the mass start world champion more self-confidence for the home competitions that start on Thursday. Hauser’s teammates and all ÖSV men, on the other hand, have some catching up to do.

Vice world champion Hauser initially lost her lead in the 10 km hunt with a prone shot. They then threw two more in the first standing stage from a top quintet that had formed by now. A flawless last stop finally secured her top ten result. At the finish, the Tyrolean was just over a minute behind winner Julia Simon. The French stormed from 16th on the grid to the front without missing a shot. Behind her, Dorothea Wierer (ITA) and Elvira Öberg (SWE), who also managed without a penalty, landed. Dunja Zdouc (33rd) and Julia Schwaiger (36th) ended up in midfield.

Hauser was satisfied with the World Cup weekend: “The race was actually solid. I did a bit of magic on the shooting range today, but unfortunately it didn’t work optimally. I made a few small mistakes there that are just annoying and also put me off a bit concentration. Nevertheless, it’s still a top ten placement and all in all it was a really cool weekend for me. Now I’m really looking forward to the home races in Hochfilzen.”

Gentlemen continue without a sense of achievement

After the consistently bad sprint, the ÖSV men were at least partially successful in damage limitation. Having started the pursuit from far outside the top 30, David Komatz improved to 19th place without missing a shot. Simon Eder (26th) and Felix Leitner (28th) also made it into the top 30. Harald Lemmerer, on the other hand, was only 56th.

Johannes Thingnes Bö celebrated the victory again. The two-time Olympic champion from Norway, despite three penalties, came out on top of his compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid as in the sprint. Third place went to Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin.
