It’s no secret that Bayern would have liked to sign another right-back in the summer. A Juventus star was the subject.
The Brazilian defender Danilo from Juventus Turin has confirmed an interest of FC Bayern Munich in the past transfer period.
“Yes, Bavaria wanted me,” quoted The Republic the 30-year-old full-back. “But I didn’t want to leave. Fortunately, Juventus didn’t want to sell me anyway.”
In August there were reports that Bayern would seek a transfer of Danilo. The German record champions have been looking for a competition for Benjamin Pavard on the right defensive side for a long time.
FC Bayern: Instead of a right-back, Sabitzer came before the transfer deadline
In addition to the two free transfers Omar Richards and Sven Ulreich, the Munich team brought Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig in the summer. While the transfer of the French Upamecano was already certain in February, an alternative for the midfield came with Sabitzer shortly before the transfer was closed. A new right-back did not come.
Danilo has already played six full-distance games at Juventus this season.
