Large time delays for ÖSV women in Vlhova slalom leadership

Katharina Liensberger was eleventh, 1.80 seconds behind the leading Slovakian Petra Vlhova, Katharina Truppe was 13th and had already got 2.00. Second was the Swiss Wendy Holdener (+0.24), third the American Mikaela Shiffrin (+0.33).

Liensberger explained that from the first goal it was more about keeping going than accelerating. She hoped that she could build up a better feeling for the second (1:30 p.m./live ticker on nachrichten.at). The Carinthian troops reported smoother conditions than expected. Accelerating when you don’t feel completely safe is difficult. She has to get on the outside skis more, otherwise it’s not fun down there.

Katharina Huber dropped out, for her it was the third failure in a row after the zero number in Killington in giant slalom and slalom. Chiara Mair and Franziska Gritsch also did not see the target. Marie-Therese Sporer missed the final qualification.
