Feller in Val d’Isere second in the slalom behind Braathen

The Norwegian relegated Manuel Feller to second place by 0.84 seconds in Val d’Isere on Sunday, third was Loic Meillard from Switzerland (+0.98). For the Tyrolean feller it was the second podium in France within 24 hours, the day before he had already finished second in the giant slalom. With Marco Schwarz (+1.87), a second ÖSV athlete came in ninth in the top ten.

Four Austrians made it to the final. Fabio Gstrein started the season in twelfth place. Adrian Pertl dropped from 15th half-time to 26th on his comeback after a one-year break due to a cruciate ligament tear. Michael Matt, Simon Rueland and Dominik Raschner failed at the qualifying hurdle in the first round.

On the piste, which was restless like the day before, there were also a few failures among the top athletes. Johannes Strolz from Vorarlberg threaded in in the morning, as did Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath and last year’s winner and local hero Clement Noel. World champion Sebastian Foss Solevaag from Norway and Alex Vinatzer from South Tyrol were hit in the second round.
