Before the start of the soccer World Cup, the Bundesliga teams released 77 players for the World Cup in Qatar, a number that naturally fell drastically over the course of the tournament. Before the first World Cup semi-final between Argentina and Croatia on Tuesday, the number has been reduced to 13. As expected, most Bundesliga players are provided by FC Bayern Munich, of which six players are still represented. The remaining seven professionals are made up of six other Bundesliga teams, only Eintracht Frankfurt has more than one semi-finalist alongside Bayern.
One thing is already certain: at least one of the remaining 13 Bundesliga professionals will be able to call themselves world champions from next Sunday. Because Argentina, Croatia, France and Morocco all have at least one Bundesliga professional in their squad. Should France or Croatia become world champions, six or five (Croatia) players from the Bundesliga would be crowned world champions. For Bayern Lucas Hernández and Benjamin Pavard it would be the second World Cup title after 2018.
