Carlo Ancelotti is currently coaching Real Madrid for the second time. But he would have to turn down an offer from a certain other top club.
Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, made it clear during a press conference that a commitment to FC Barcelona is fundamentally out of the question for him. “I’m the coach of Real and I can’t work against it,” he said, referring to the great rivalry between the two top Spanish clubs.
“With all due respect to a big club like Barcelona, I can’t go there with my story,” said the Italian, who has been back on the Blancos bench this summer. He had already taken a seat there between 2013 and 2015.
Ancelotti watches the LaLiga opponents duel
Ancelotti is not interested in the job with the Catalans, but is very interested in the games of Ronald Koeman’s side: Barca will play the LaLiga top game at Atletico Madrid, last year’s champions, on Saturday evening. “I think it will be an even game. I will watch it like any football fan,” said Ancelotti.
Real currently leads the table in Spain. On Sunday, Los Blancos will go to Espanyol Barcelona (4.15 p.m.).
