EM 2021 live stream and TV broadcast: where you will see Italy vs Spain

Who will show the matches of the EM 2021 live on TV and as a live stream? The broadcasters ARD, ZDF and MagentaTV share the rights to the European championship. Here is an overview of where which games can be seen.

The European Football Championship is currently taking place one year late. Due to the corona pandemic, the tournament originally planned for 2020 had to be postponed by a year. Now Euro 2020 (yes, it will still be officially called that in 2021) will take place at eleven different locations in Europe – three broadcasters have secured the rights to the live broadcast.

Euro 2020: Streaming or Live TV?

The games of the EM 2021 and Euro 2020 can all be streamed live via TV or a computer. However, not all Euro 2020 games will be broadcast free of charge on public TV channels. In addition to ARD and ZDF, Telekom’s paid streaming service MagentaTV has also secured the rights to broadcast the 51 games.

Telekom broadcasts Euro 2020 on MagentaTV

Telekom is the only broadcaster to broadcast all 51 European Championship matches live as a stream through its MagentaTV service. Telekom even secured exclusive broadcasting rights for ten matches – including, for example, the game between France and Portugal on June 23, which was only broadcast on Magenta TV.

ARD and ZDF actually had the exclusive rights for the postponed EM from last year. However, the public broadcasters decided to also include MagentaTV via a sub-license and in return secured a license for the home EM 2024.

Many streaming providers offer a free trial month. If you think you can stream EURO 2021 in this way at no cost, you will unfortunately be disappointed. At MagentaTV there is no option for a free trial month during the European Championship.
