The ÖEHV team lost 11-0 to defending champion Canada at the U20 World Championships

After the debacles against Sweden (0:11) and the Czech Republic (0:9), the host team was, as expected, a size too big. The Austrian youth players didn’t score a single goal in the third game either.

At the end of Group A, head coach Kirk Furey’s side take on Germany at the Scotiabank Center on Friday (10.30pm CET), who lost 2:11 to Canada.

The first red-white-red victory at a U20 A World Cup would, if it succeeds in regular time, bring the first league and entry into the quarter-finals. In the event of a defeat, Austria has a second chance of staying up in the relegation on January 2nd, 4th and if necessary 5th January in a “best of three” series against the last team in Group B.
