After the 6-1 home win over Fassa, the people of Linz made an ambitious start to the away game against the twelfth-placed team in the Alps Hockey League. Shawn McBride scored in the 16th minute to make it 1-0 for the hosts.
Because Geoffrey Kitt had to go into the cool box immediately after the first break because of a leg trip, the guests got the chance with a majority. And the South Tyroleans used that through Davide Conci (22./pp) to take the lead 2-0. Alessio Niccolai made it 3-0 in the 34th minute.
In the final third, Joseph Mizzi scored the goal to make it 4-0 with a majority (50./pp) when Matthias Haiböck was in the cool box because he was holding. Then the game got rougher. In the 51st minute, the referees sent Rene Deluca and Geoffrey Kitt to the penalty box for excessive hardness. Alex Zecchetto followed them two minutes later. When Kitt and Deluca were back in the game, the next penalties were imposed for hard deposits: In the 53rd minute, two players each – Johannes Gschnitzer and Jaakko Jokinen from the Broncos and Kitt and Arturs Brikmanis from the Linzers – went on for two minutes penalty box. Manuel Feldbaumer and Alessio Niccolai were penalized after the end of the game for hitting them with sticks.
