Christian Eriksen and his lifesavers invited by Uefa to the European Championship finals

It was a shock at the start of the European Championship when Danish player Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch and had to be revived. Uefa has now invited him, his girlfriend and the paramedics to the final.

The circulatory collapse of the Danish national player Christian Eriksen was a shock at the beginning of the European Championship. Fortunately, doctors and paramedics were able to revive him on the square. But his cardiac arrest in the preliminary round game against Finland meant the premature end of the EM for him.

Now the European football association Uefa has invited Eriksen to the final match at Wembley Stadium, as reported by several Danish media, citing the Reuters news agency. In addition to Eriksen, his girlfriend and six of his lifesavers were also invited. However, it is still unclear whether Eriksen will also accept the invitation.

Paramedic: “I’m as happy as a child on Christmas Eve”

The paramedic Peder Ersgaard was invited, as reported by the magazine “Fagbladet Foa”. “I’m as happy as a child on Christmas Eve,” he told the magazine. It “completely swept his legs away,” said the paramedic. “I’m very proud of my own performance, but also of the team as a whole. It’s not a one-man performance,” he said. Ersgaard hopes to see Denmark play Italy in Sunday’s London final.

After his collapse, Danish player Eriksen was admitted to the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen and examined. A defibrillator was also used to respond to a possible similar circulatory collapse. It is still unclear how this will affect his future career. Eriksen plays for Inter Milan and it is forbidden to play with such a device in the Italian league.

On Wednesday it will be decided whether Denmark will be in the final when they play against England at Wembley. On Tuesday evening at 9 p.m., Spain and Italy will play for the finals, also in London’s Wembley Stadium.
