Indian Wells will be played March 6-19, with Miami following immediately. 21-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic is currently warming up in Adelaide for the Australian Open after being deported from the country on the eve of the tournament last year and failing to defend his title as a result. His original three-year entry ban has now been lifted by the Australian authorities.

Djokovic has emphasized several times that he would rather not play Grand Slam tournaments than be vaccinated against Covid.
