After just one year, Achraf Hakimi is leaving Inter Milan again. The former BVB defender joins Paris Saint-Germain in France.
Right-back Achraf Hakimi is moving from Italian champions Inter Milan to French runners-up Paris Saint-Germain. PSG announced this in a tweet on Tuesday.
Hakimi has signed with PSG until 2026. The fee, including bonus payments, should be up to 70 million euros. The 22-year-old Moroccan had been under contract with Inter until 2025, just under a year ago he moved from Real Madrid to the Nerazzurri for 45 million euros.
Achraf Hakimi: The solution to PSG’s problems on the right-wing defense?
With seven goals and ten assists in 37 Serie A games, Hakimi played a major role in Inter breaking the nine-year dominance of Juventus Turin and crowning themselves Italian champions for the first time since 2010. The fact that Hakimi is still being sold is because Inter is reliant on significant transfer income this summer.
At PSG, Hakimi should solve the problem on the right side of the defense. The Parisians were not satisfied with Colin Dagba or Alessandro Florenzi last season – with Hakimi they are now hoping to have this position at world-class level.
The 31-time Moroccan international comes from the offspring of Real Madrid and was awarded to Borussia Dortmund from 2018 to 2020. Hakimi played a total of 73 competitive games for BVB (twelve goals, 17 assists).
