He probably won’t like to hear that. A few days after welcoming his new club Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has to put up with the first taunts from his new colleagues. Vincent Aboubakar had released an explosive comparison with the Argentine world champion and Ronaldo’s long-term rival Lionel Messi: According to international media reports, Aboubakar is said to have told the Turkish online portal “NTV Spor”: “I always thought that Messi was better is as Ronaldo. But after training with Ronaldo, I realized I was right.”
Of course, the Aboubakar attack also has a background: the Saudi Arabian league allows eight foreigners per club – with Ronaldo there are nine. In order for the Portuguese superstar to be registered, Aboubakar (at the club since 2021) is to terminate his contract, which runs until 2024.
