In addition to Blau-Weiss Linz, Steyr coach Daniel Madlener asked his team for the first training session yesterday. The long-term injured Silvio Apollonio and Ikenna Ezeala were still missing – as was Aleksandar Maric, who is to be loaned out, and the ailing goalies Valerian Hüttner (pubic osteitis) and Marin Ravlija (knee).
Why the club will add to the goalkeeper position – but ex-Steyr goalie Thomas Turner (St. Pölten) will not be. Rather, it is said to be a goalkeeper from an Upper Austria club who is moving to Steyr on a cooperation basis. The talks are also very concrete with a central midfielder and a striker – they could come to fruition as early as this week.
However, the future of sports director Jürgen Tröscher is uncertain – his contract expires in the summer. Tröscher: “I don’t want to comment on that.”
