Power failure paralyzed biathlon

The four-time Olympic champion prevailed in the individual over 20 km despite two penalties 9.9 seconds ahead of his compatriot Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen. Third was the clean-shooting Jakov Fak from Slovenia (+29.3). Things also went well for David Komatz (14th) and Simon Eder (15th).

During the race, the power went out several times in the stadium. The TV broadcast and the lighting of the shooting range were also temporarily interrupted. However, the timekeeping continued, as the IBU stated. It was backed up by a battery.
