A source close to the matter explained that the ITF and Kosmos failed to reach a new financial agreement.

Since its radical reform and the abandonment mainly of the formula of different duels with a team at home and another as a visitor, with matches to the best of five sets spread over a weekend, the Davis Cup has not been able to fully connect with that new public that he was chasing.

After the news broke, reactions began to arrive in the world of tennis. “I have always fought against this new format of the Davis Cup, an institution in our sport. It is a great victory for tennis,” wrote the president of the French Tennis Federation, Gilles Moretton, in a message broadcast to various media.
