On Friday, the German national team will start the Handball World Championship in Sweden and Poland. The DHB selection meets Qatar at the start of Group E. This overview shows where you can follow the game.

The Handball World Championship has been running in Sweden and Poland since Wednesday, January 11th. 32 teams will compete against each other until January 29th. In Group E, the German team meets Qatar, Serbia and Algeria. The stated goal of the DHB selection is a place in the quarterfinals. The opening game against Qatar will be broadcast on ZDF from 6 p.m.

As in previous years, the German fans have to sign a paid offer for this World Cup. If you want to follow all 112 games, you can’t avoid a tournament pass from the “sportdeutschland.tv” streaming service. The offer costs a one-off fee of 15 euros and includes over 80 exclusive games.

Above all, the performances of the German national team will be shown on free TV. The public broadcasters ARD and ZDF share the rights. The two preliminary round games against Qatar and Algeria will be broadcast on ZDF, as well as a possible quarter-final and final with German participation. The first shows the second German group game against Serbia. In addition, there are two possible games in the main round and a semi-final if the German team manages to make it into the Final Four.

Stephanie Müller-Spirra will moderate the ARD. Former world champion Dominik Klein is once again at her side as an expert. The longtime moderator Alexander Bommes canceled his planned assignment for health reasons. Katrin Müller-Hohenstein leads through the program on ZDF. Ex-world champion Markus Baur sits at her side.

15 other games without German participation will also be broadcast on free TV. In addition to the semi-finals and finals, “Eurosport” will also broadcast several games in the group phase, including the opening match between France and Poland on January 11 at 9 p.m. Further broadcasts will be announced during the tournament.
