Drunk driving: Ex-Rapidler has to go to court

The ex-soccer professional at SK Rapid, who has been playing in the Premier League since 2019, was caught by the police on Thursday morning with a high alcohol level at the wheel. The Brazilian has to appear in court at the end of January.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe expressed anger and said he wasn’t sure Joelinton would feature in the league game against Fulham on Sunday. Northumbria Police reported Joelinton for “driving above the alcohol limit”.

Howe, whose side are third in the table, said the club would settle the matter internally. “I have to think about it and analyze it. I will make a decision in consultation with him before the game,” the coach told reporters on Friday. “It’s a difficult situation. Jo was very upset yesterday and I think he knows how serious the situation is.”
