The girlfriend of ÖSV jumper Daniel Tschofenig was framed in the victory photo by Eva Pinkelnig (2nd), who extended her lead in the overall World Cup over German Katharina Althaus to 199 points, and Chiara Kreuzer (3rd). For the latter, who was “only” seventh at half-time, it was her first podium since Lillehammer in March 2020 (3rd). “It’s extremely nice after such a hard time. These were extremely difficult years for me,” said the 25-year-old, who at the time was still jumping under her maiden name Hölzl. Head coach Harald Rodlauer was completely satisfied with the result – also with the winner: “Canada’s first victory is good for ski jumping.” Rodlauer has nominated his two podium jumpers for the super team competition, which is being held for the first time today and only allows two athletes per nation.
The men also jump a team competition today, but in Zakopane (Pol), where an individual competition follows on Sunday.
