A hearing at the regional court for criminal matters in Vienna was scheduled for (today) Tuesday, whereby Milletich would have taken action against an article published in October 2022 in which he was accused of “buying advertisements” for his publishers using his ÖFB presidency.
This matter was heard at the Vienna Regional Court for Criminal Matters on Monday. Milletich took action against the online publication of the article. His counter-statement request was not legally dismissed. Because the application did not meet the thesis of the article, but focused on whether or not there had been long-term business relationships with several ÖFB sponsors who had been contacted for the purpose of advertisements, the judge determined.
The extent to which the allegation that Milletich was running “advertising brawls” was true was not clarified on Monday. The ethics committee of the Bundesliga is also dealing with the advertising cause around Milletich. Results should be available in January.
