Platense was forceful in the victory against Unión

Vicente López’s team, with the ratification of Claudio Spontón as DT, reached 16 points, while Unión, with the debut of Uruguayan coach Gustavo Munúa, stayed at 18 points and halted his streak of two consecutive victories.

The forcefulness was key for Platense. Emanuel Brítez made a mistake at the start and Tissera was attentive. The forward, in two times against Sebastián Moyano’s cover, opened the scoring.

Lomónaco, who entered in the final minutes, increased the difference in the second approach with danger from “Squid”, with a cross shot.

Union found the discount through a stopped ball. Goalkeeper Luis Ojeda blocked the header from Franco Calderón and entered Juan Manuel García headed for the goal on the rebound.

The Santa Fe team had the ball throughout the game and it disturbed Platense at times, especially in the second stage. Spontón’s team relied on the experience of Hernán Lamberti and the safety of Ojeda in the goal.

The referee Pablo Dovalo did not observe a subjection to Calderón in the area, before the second goal from Platense, and the local public became impatient with his mistakes.

Union paid dearly for its mistakes, it did not know how to define when it should and Platense was the opposite. For this reason, Vicente López’s team was left with the victory and cut a streak of three consecutive draws.

On the next date, Platense will face Racing Club in Avellaneda (without Brian Mansilla, who accumulated the fifth yellow card) and Unión will be visiting Sarmiento de Junín.
