“The Universidad Nacional club has made the decision to terminate the employment contract with the player with just cause as of this day”reported Leopoldo Silva, president of the Pumas, at a press conference.
Leopoldo Silva alluded to the values of the Pumas as a representative soccer team of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, to terminate Dani Alves’ contract.
“With this decision, the club reiterates its commitment not to tolerate acts by any member of our institution, whoever they may be, that go against the university spirit and its values. The Universidad Nacional club is an institution that promotes respect, upright behavior , dignified and professional of its players on and off the pitch”Silva added.
After the brief message from the president of the university Pumas there was no question and answer session.
Dani Alves came to the Pumas as a reinforcement for the Apertura 2022 tournament and had a contract until June 2023. The Brazilian’s statistical balance with the university cats was 1,125 minutes of play in 13 games in which he gave five assists.
