We’ll be reporting live from Feldkirch from 4 p.m. |
Just seven days after the most recent meeting, the Pioneers Vorarlberg and the Steinbach Black Wings will face each other again today from 5 p.m. While the first two duels were always tight games (3:2 nP, 2:3 from Linz’s point of view), the home game of Linz in the previous week with a 5:0 was a quite clear affair.
Kristler suspended, Wolf celebrates comeback
In terms of personnel, the people of Linz are traveling to the Ländle without the suspended Andreas Kristler. The striker has been suspended for two games for hitting a stick in the away game in Villach. The assistant captain will also be absent in Innsbruck on Tuesday and will not be allowed to play again until Sunday against Pustertal. Other personalities: With Raphael Wolf, a defender is back in the squad after an injury break of several weeks. The goal will be guarded by Rasmus Tirronen, Linz announced in a broadcast.

Black Wings forward banned for two games
Julian Pusnik will take the place of Kristler, who was away to Zell am See for the Steel Wings on Thursday and provided an assist. A match report from the 3:4 away defeat of the Steel Wings at the start of qualifying group A of the Alps Hockey League.

Good performance but no points: Steel Wings lost in Zell
Pusnik was also a guest on our icebreaker podcast last week. The 23-year-old was born in Villach, learned to play ice hockey in Innsbruck, went through the youth department of VSV and has been playing for the Black Wings for four years. He is also the son of KAC and VSV legend Andreas Pusnik and grandson of the only Austrian in the hockey hall of fame to date, Sepp Puschnig. In episode 33 he tells us why he chose Linz, how he got number 80 and what would have become of him if ice hockey didn’t exist:
