The Salzburg woman is taking a break of at least a week, as the ÖSV announced on Wednesday. The Austrian squad around season dominator Eva Pinkelnig for the competitions on Saturday and Sunday consists of only four athletes. In addition to Pinkelnig, there are also Chiara Kreuzer, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Hannah Wiegele.
Meanwhile, Kramer is trying to get in better shape ahead of the World Cup. “Sara is currently not where she would like to be physically. With an individual training phase, we are now giving her the time to prepare for the upcoming highlights of the season,” said head coach Harald Rodlauer. In the last six competitions, Kramer finished ninth in Zao and only managed one top ten result.
Pinkelnig, on the other hand, is looking to continue her famous run of success with eight podium finishes in a row in the Black Forest. “I’ve never jumped there in winter. A number of years ago I hopped there in the summer and got along well then. Now I’m looking forward to this new challenge,” said the five-time winner of the season. She made good use of the break after the Japan competitions to recharge her batteries with her family and in nature. “The strategy remains the same as last time, it worked incredibly well. I’m ready for the second half of the season.”
