The Tyrolean only had to bow to the Norwegian Jens Luraas Oftebro after the 7.5 km cross-country skiing on Friday. His compatriot and long leading top favorite Jarl Magnus Riiber finished fourth behind German Julian Schmid. Second best Austrian was Lukas Greiderer ahead of three teammates in ninth place.
“I’m very, very happy about second place. That was three really fast laps from the start. I felt from the first meter that things were going well,” said Lamparter, who recently won twice in Klingenthal, in an ORF interview.
