Philipp Wiesinger last played for LASK on April 9, 2022. The defender has been nine months since making a comeback – the 28-year-old was absent from the athletes for the entire autumn due to a pubic arthritis and an ankle injury.
He was supposed to start team training during the World Cup break, but another ankle operation put off his return. The time had come at the training camp in Belek – and on the last day he was finally back on the field against Termalica Nieciecza (1:1).
Patience is required
After half an hour it was over as planned. “It was great to finally play a game with the boys again. I’ve gradually approached the past few weeks, completed more and more team training sessions and was able to take the next step with the short assignment,” Wiesinger told the “kicker”. Sooner or later, Wiesinger will become the reinforcement that coach Dietmar Kühbauer was looking forward to at the end of the autumn season. LASK will not rush anything.
