SV Guntamatic Ried seems to have found what they are looking for in their search for a replacement for the injured regular goalie Samuel Sahin-Radlinger: As reported exclusively in OÖN, Richard Strebinger is likely to strengthen the Innviertler team until the summer.
Ried’s club officials have already got an idea of the 29-year-old ex-goalkeeper from Rapid Vienna in a personal conversation. After his foreign engagement with the Polish top club Legia Warsaw, the native of Lower Austria has been without a club since last July.
Negotiations are well advanced: If everything goes according to plan, Strebinger could sign a contract with SV Ried until the summer – and ideally start training with head coach Christian Heinle tomorrow.
On Saturday, the ÖFB Cup will see the start of the compulsory spring game at the Wiener Sport-Club. But there will probably not be a Strebinger debut in the Viking jersey: In two of the three cup rounds so far this season, substitute goalkeeper Jonas Wendlinger has always been between the posts. This is also planned against the Vienna regional league.
