With the result, the German Nordic athletes celebrated a successful dress rehearsal less than two weeks before the World Championships in Planica, Slovenia. “I don’t know where the energy on the last mountain came from. I would say it came from the incredible audience,” said Armbruster on ZDF. Jenny Nowak finished seventh on Sunday as the second best German, Svenja Würth was ninth.

The day before, Nowak had achieved her best World Cup result in Nordic Combined in second place. “It was very tough, but I gave it my all. I’m very happy that I got my reward today,” said the 20-year-old. For the upcoming World Cup, this will “definitely give a lot of impetus”. The title fights will take place from February 21st to March 5th.
