Will multi-billionaire Elon Musk grab a football club after Twitter? This is reported, among other things, by the “Daily Mail”. According to sources, the tech billionaire is said to be closely monitoring the situation at United and seriously considering taking over the “Red Devils”.
Serious buyers would have until Friday to place an offer with current Man United owners, American brothers Joel and Avram Glazer, for a purchase. The two brothers should demand at least five billion euros for the series champion.
That would probably not be a problem for Musk: his fortune is estimated at 188 billion euros, making him the second richest man in the world.
Musk took over the news service Twitter for an estimated 44 billion euros in October last year. And for the bid for United, if he were actually interested in the club, he would have to argue with some big opponents. As the English media unanimously report, a group of investors from Qatar and the British chemical billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe (70, “Ineos”, assets of EUR 15 billion) are also said to be interested in United.
