Dunja Zdouc was the 14th best ÖSV athlete in the individual over 15 km, Lisa Hauser did not get past 32nd place after a stuttering start in shooting. The double victory on Wednesday went to Sweden: Hanna Öberg triumphed for the second time after 2019 in 43:36.1 minutes, this time 10.3 seconds ahead of her compatriot Linn Persson. Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi (+28 sec) took bronze.
Hauser, currently sixth overall in the World Cup, missed all medal chances with one penalty in the first prone stage and at least three penalties in the following standing stage. In a good second half without any mistakes at the shooting range, the Tyrolean was able to gain self-confidence for the tasks ahead, but was unable to turn things around. “If you go away with three penalties at the second shooting, you know that the race is over,” summed up the Tyrolean.
