It will consist of three teams that will participate in a four-round tournament where their shooting, dribbling and passing skills will be put to the test.
Who are the participants?
The Antetokounmpos: Giannis Antetokounmpo he will be in the Skills Contest playing alongside his brothers Alex Antetokounmpo, of the Wisconsin Herd in the G League, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, another Milwaukee Bucks man.
Utah Jazz: The local franchise will be represented by three of its best players this season: Jordan Clarksonthe rookie Walker Kessler and collin sexton.
Team Rookies: The other participating team in this competition will be rookies. Paolo Bancherothe pick 1 of the 2022 Draft, will play alongside Jabari Smith Jr.pick 3, and Jaden Iveypick 5.
What is the competition format like?
Each team will compete in the first three rounds, adding points through “Challenge Points” that are acquired after winning those rounds. The two teams with the most points after those first three rounds will contest the Skills Contest final.
First Round, Team Throw: each player from each team will participate individually, with their other two teammates rebounding. Each player has 30 seconds to shoot from five different locations on the field ranging from 10 feet (3 meters) to 30 feet (9.1 meters). The same throw cannot be repeated consecutively. The shots scored in each location will have a different value (from 1 to 5). The individual scores of each player will be added together to determine the final value of each team. The team with the highest score at the end of the First Round will receive 100 Challenge Points.
Second round, team pass: all team players will participate together. Each team will have 30 seconds to complete passes on three moving targets that will vary in size and distance. Each team must complete at least one pass at each goal, and a player may not make consecutive passes at the same goal. Each pass completed in each objective will have a different value (2, 4 and 6 points). The team with the most points will win the round and receive 100 Challenge Points.
Third round, team relay: all the players of each team will participate in a relay per time. Each player will need to complete a course with five skills in the following order: 1) chest pass to a moving target on the baseline, 2) dribble across the pitch through three moving posts, 3) short throw in the paint, 4) 3-pointer from the corner against an automated defender and 5) dribbling to the opposing rim and scoring a shot. The team with the fastest time will win the round and earn 200 Challenge Points.
Final Round, shots from midfield: the two finalist teams will compete one at the same time and all the players from each team will participate to try to score from midfield. Team 1 will establish the time to overcome after a conversion (limit one minute and 30 seconds). The team that scores the fastest midfield shot will win the Skills Challenge. In the event of a tie, the Final Round will be repeated.
