After the first slalom run in Méribel on Saturday, the American leads 0.19 seconds ahead of Wendy Holdener from Switzerland. It would be the third medal at this World Championships for both women. Surprisingly, Canadian Laurence St-Germain (+0.61) took third place. Best Austrian is defending champion Katharina Liensberger (+1.70) in 14th place.
Just behind is Katharina Huber (+1.87). Katharina Truppe (+2.12) and Franziska Gritsch (+2.45) are further behind. The four Austrians will probably no longer be able to intervene in the fight for the medals from 1.30 p.m. (live ORF 1).
