“We have repeatedly discussed and analyzed the entire development of the team over the past few months. Unfortunately, we were still unable to deliver any decisive positive results in the spring. We didn’t take this decision lightly, but staying up in the league is a big goal for the season and one that is very important for our club,” says SVR sports director Thomas Reicheltshammer, explaining the dismissal of coach Christian Heinle.

OÖN had already reported on Heinle’s end in the morning – at that point everything still looked like a German coach would become Heinle’s successor. Michael Köllner, ex-coach of the German third division team TSV 1860 Munich, was in pole position and also conducted negotiations with the people of the Innviertel.

The 53-year-old should have canceled Ried – which got those responsible for the Vikings in trouble: According to OÖN information, Heinle was released from his duties yesterday, Tuesday. Today you suddenly found yourself without a coach. With Maximilian Senft, the amateur coach should now fix it.

A solution that the OÖN had already brought into play the previous week. If the risk with the former poker pro goes up, Senft can probably remain Ried’s trainer longer. If the results do not come about even under the previous amateur coach, Ried would probably have the joker of an additional change of coach up his sleeve. With Gerhard Schweitzer, Senft also has an experienced Ried connoisseur at its side.

“It’s about results”

“Football is about results at the end of the day and we didn’t deliver as we wanted. I’m pleased that some players have become Bundesliga players under my responsibility, and also that we’re in the semi-finals of the cup. I’ve always given everything for SVR. I wish the team all the best,” says outgoing EC coach Christian Heinle.

SVR Sports Director Wolfgang Fiala explains: “We would like to sincerely thank Christian Heinle for his dedicated work for SV Guntamatic Ried. With his successes with the Young Vikings, Maximilian Senft has impressively demonstrated that he can deliver results and develop players. He also gained experience in the relegation battle with Barnsley in England and mastered it successfully. The way he works also fully convinced us that he is the right man in the current situation.”

Senft is excited about the new task: “All people who are passionate about SV Guntamatic Ried need to join forces now. We have a responsibility as a team and we will live up to it.”
