Some of the sanitary facilities, such as sinks or toilets in the away sector of the Josko Arena, were apparently destroyed by Austria Wien supporters. “We strongly condemn the destruction of sinks, toilets, etc. and appeal to Austria fans to behave differently on future visits to Ried,” said SV Ried. “The damage was reported by the Bundesliga delegate and taken to the police. The exact property damage has not yet been determined. But it is quite possible that this could amount to several thousand euros,” says SV Ried Managing Director Rainer Wöllinger.
The sporting performance of Wiener Austria cannot have been the reason for the act of vandalism. The Viennese won confidently with 3:1.
Sanitary facilities were only recently destroyed during the Upper Austrian derby between Vorwarts Steyr and Blau-Weiss-Linz.
