Former French soccer star Franck Ribéry is planning a career as a coach. The 39-year-old is currently a manager at Italian Serie A club US Salernitana, where he last played until October.
But his goal is a head coach position. “I thank Salernitana for trusting me as an assistant coach. It also gives me the opportunity to prepare for my coaching diploma,” said the 39-year-old to “Sport Bild”.
“Being a coach will give me what I already miss, namely the pressure before a game, the preparation, the training, the fans, the atmosphere. I need that to be happy,” explained Ribéry. He learned a lot from Ottmar Hitzfeld, Jupp Heynckes and Carlo Ancelotti in particular.
