At the bottom Young Violets, coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s team suffered their first defeat after ten unbeaten games with a 2-1 defeat.

Linzer had more of the game, but they rarely became really dangerous: In the 26th minute, Ronivaldo’s header went wide of the goal, Manuel Maranda’s heel ended up on the goal net after a corner (45th). Then came the shock in the fifth minute of stoppage time: goalkeeper Nicolas Schmid had blocked a shot from Anouar El Moukhantir directly at the feet of Dario Kreiker, who only had to push in more.

The second half began as the first half had ended: Dejan Radonjic made the home side celebrate again after a corner. The people of Linz woke up too late: First, the Scheiblehner team failed from a distance on the post, Ronivaldo’s goal (77th) was not enough.

“The defeat hurts, but above all the performance. It was a deserved victory for the Young Violets. We didn’t assert ourselves and had few solutions,” summed up BW coach Gerald Scheiblehner.

Yilmaz Gold Gate in Steyr

The first win in the spring came fromVorter Steyr – a debutant from the starting XI scored the gold goal in a 1-0 win over FAC: Kubilay Yilmaz, who joined the Reds and Whites in the winter, was spot on after a header from Alem Pasic. In the finish, Steyr goalkeeper Nikolas Polster held on to victory with strong saves. Forward left the relegation zone for the first time since last October.
