Football player Leandro Fernandezof outstanding passage through Independent, was involved in a traffic accident this morning, as reported by the police of the Buenos Aires province.
The player collided with his truck at the Alpargatas roundabout on Provincial Route 2 and tried to flee in “apparent state of intoxication”.
According to police reports, the current forward of University of Chile collided with a vehicle in which a woman and her baby were traveling -both out of danger-. He stopped 200 meters ahead of the area of the incident but, wanting to identify him, the police force notified that “in an apparent state of intoxication he wants to flee, being reduced by the cash and PBA personnel who went to the place”; it was eventually determined that the man in question was indeed the 31-year-old footballer.
Subsequently, it was carried out the breathalyzer control and it determined that he had a punitive positive blood level of 1.62 g/lwhen since February of this year the “Zero Alcohol” law was enacted in the province of Buenos Aires.
Therefore, an infraction certificate was made that will have the interference of the Provincial Court of Misdemeanors 01 of La Plata and the seizure of his vehicle.
Fernández, who seven days ago played the friendly against River in Salta and scored a goal, was visiting the country.
