Everything already indicates that Gianluigi Donnarumma will join PSG – but it’s not official yet. Marco Verratti came before that.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti accidentally announced the transfer of his Italian national team-mate Gianluigi Donnarumma to PSG.
“He (Donnarumma, d. Red.) Deserves to join a top European club that claims to win the Champions League,” Verratti said at a press conference on Thursday and then finally announced the transfer: “I’m happy To have Donnarumma as a new teammate at PSG. He will help us a lot. ”
Before switching to PSG: Donnarumma still wants to win the EM with Verratti
The transfer of the Italian national keeper to PSG has been on the way for weeks anyway, most recently Donnarumma left Italy’s EM quarters for a short time to complete the medical check with the French runners-up. Since Donnarumma’s contract with AC Milan expired on June 30, the 22-year-old can move on for free.
Donnarumma switched to the youngsters in Milan when he was 14 and made his debut in Serie A when he was only 16 years old. He had made a total of 251 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri.
Before they play together for PSG, Verratti and Donnarumma want to win the European Championship with Italy. On Sunday they will meet England in the Wembley final (9 p.m. on LIVE-TICKER).
