Franziska Feldmeier (19th minute) equalized before the break in the first third. In the middle third, Laura Kluge (25th), Celina Haider (26th) and Svenja Voigt (34th) ensured the interim 4:2 lead. Again Haider (48th) and Feldmeier (56th) scored the final score.
“Of course I’m very proud of the whole team and staff after this great win against the Swedes,” said coach Schädler. It was also important for us as a team not to be discouraged after the first quick goal we conceded.”
On Friday (9 p.m. / MagentaSport) the German team will continue against Finland. The other group opponents are France and Hungary. The aim of the German selection is to leave two teams behind in order to safely avoid relegation. Third place in the group of five nations would also mean entry into the quarter-finals.
